I Love My Paw started with a simple observation: pet owners searching for basic care information online are met with cluttered websites, paywalled tools, and aggressive advertising that interrupts the experience. We set out to build something better.

Every calculator and guide on this site runs entirely in your browser. No account creation, no email capture, no freemium upsell, no data transmitted to external servers. You open the page, use the tool, and get your answer. That is the entire experience, and we are committed to keeping it that way.

Our sources and methodology

The formulas and recommendations behind our calculators come from established veterinary organizations and peer-reviewed research. We reference guidelines from the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP), the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA), and the National Research Council (NRC) Committee on Animal Nutrition.

Our breed profiles draw from kennel club breed standards, veterinary genetics literature, and breed-specific health studies. Growth curves reference data compiled from veterinary teaching hospital records and breed registries spanning thousands of documented cases.

We update our tools when authoritative organizations publish revised guidelines. Our vaccination calendars reflect current AAHA and AAFP recommendations, and our nutrition calculators use the most recent NRC and AAFCO nutrient requirement tables.

What we believe

Good pet care information should be accessible to everyone regardless of income, location, or technical ability. A first-time dog owner researching feeding amounts deserves the same quality tools as a veterinary professional double-checking a calculation. Accurate information presented clearly, on fast-loading pages that work on any device, is not a premium feature. It is a baseline expectation.

We also believe in transparency about our limitations. Our calculators provide estimates based on published guidelines and population averages. They are not a substitute for personalized veterinary advice. Your veterinarian knows your individual pet and should always be your primary resource for health decisions.

How we keep the lights on

I Love My Paw displays Google AdSense advertisements to cover hosting and development costs. We limit ads to a maximum of three per page, never place them above the fold or between a tool's input and output, and never use pop-ups or interstitials. If you use an ad blocker, every tool works exactly the same.

We do not sell user data, collect personal information, or run affiliate marketing programs. Our revenue comes solely from display advertising.
